formnext, the world’s biggest AM event is over. Visiting this show made us realize again how incredibly fast this industry is developing. Four days of seeing application showcases, hardware launches, software innovation and materials development confirmed something else, CurTec drums and jars are becoming the preferred carriers for shipping and distributing AM raw materials.
While walking the aisles at the show it was a pleasure to see our drums pop up on top of printing machines and on display as premium packaging for various valuable AM materials. | Reducing the risk of shipping flammable metal powders |
 This year the American NFPA (National Fire Protection Association) proposed adding new requirements to its 484 Standard for Combustible Metals used in additive manufacturing, Chapter 13.2.5.1. The new draft standard states that non-metallic container materials must be conductive in nature or have a documented risk analysis performed acceptable to authorities.
