The first requirements of the European Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation (PPWR) have applied since August 12, 2026.
CurTec’s entire product portfolio complies with the relevant Article 5 requirements concerning substances in packaging, including heavy metals and PFAS requirements for food-contact packaging.
As further PPWR requirements take effect, we continue to monitor what they mean for our packaging and our customers.

ECO LITE drums have won the German Packaging Award in the Sustainability category, recognizing a design that reduces environmental impact without compromising safety, quality or regulatory compliance.
The independent jury highlighted:
- 25% less material through geometric optimization
- 30% biobased plastic
- An approximately 30% lower carbon footprint
- Mono-material HDPE construction with an integrated seal
- Full UN-compliant performance
The jury also recognized ECO LITE’s ability to combine sustainability improvements with stable costs, helping make lower-impact packaging scalable for demanding pharmaceutical and fine chemical supply chains.
